When John identifies a strategic exit point, he will send you an alert with specific trade information as to what security to sell, when to sell it, and at what price. Most often, it will be to TAKE PROFITS, but, on rare occasions, it will be to exercise a STOP LOSS at a predetermined price to adhere to strict risk management discipline.

Thanks to the red hot increase in the Consumer Price Index this morning, bond prices have broken down to a new four year low.
I am therefore going to take profits here in my long position with the iShares Barclays 20+ Year Treasury Bond Fund (TLT) February, 2018 $114-$117 in-the-money vertical BULL CALL spread.
I am leaving some money on the table here coming out of my position two days before expiration.
Coming out here you still get to take home a modest profit of 3.70% in only seven trading days.
However, risk control is the order of the day, and a small profit is much better than a big loss if this (TLT) melt down really starts to gain a head of steam.
Here are the specific trades you need to exit this position:
Sell 37 February, 2018 (TLT) $114 calls at????????????.?????????$3.80
Buy to cover short 37 February, 2018 (TLT) $117 calls at???.$1.00
Net Cost:??????????????????????????????.????????????..????????????.???.....$2.80
Profit: $2.80 - $2.70 = $0.10
(37 X 100 X $0.10) = $370 or 3.70% in 7 trading days.
