When John identifies a strategic exit point, he will send you an alert with specific trade information as to what security to sell, when to sell it, and at what price. Most often, it will be to TAKE PROFITS, but, on rare occasions, it will be to exercise a STOP LOSS at a predetermined price to adhere to strict risk management discipline.
Trade Alert - (AAPL) – TAKE PROFITS
SELL the Apple (AAPL) March 2020 $220-$230 in-the-money vertical Bull Call spread at $9.30 or best
Closing Trade

expiration date: March 20, 2020
Portfolio weighting: 10%
Number of Contracts = 11 contracts
I am going to use today’s 725-point rally off the bottom in the Dow Average and the $13 pop in Apple to take profits and reduce risk. Even though these options expire in three days and we are $25 in-the-money, I don’t have enough cushion to handle another 3,000-point dive in the Dow. Risk control is the order of the day.
At this point, anything can happen with just three days to the March 20 option expiration, including another down 3,000-point day.
We have benefited enormously from five days of time decay in holding this position, which has made up our entire profit. Buy coming out here, I can capture 41.67% of the maximum potential profit.
I am therefore selling the Apple (AAPL) March 2020 $220-$230 in-the-money vertical Bull Call spread at $9.30 or best.
This was a bet that Apple (AAPL) would not trade below $230 by the March 20 option expiration day in 8 trading days.
DO NOT USE MARKET ORDERS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
