When John identifies a strategic exit point, he will send you an alert with specific trade information as to what security to sell, when to sell it, and at what price. Most often, it will be to TAKE PROFITS, but, on rare occasions, it will be to exercise a STOP LOSS at a predetermined price to adhere to strict risk management discipline.
Trade Alert - (SPY) - BUY
BUY the S&P 500 (SPY) October 2019 $270-$275 in-the-money vertical bull call spread at $4.40 up to $4.60
Opening Trade

expiration date: October 18, 2019
Portfolio weighting: 10%
Number of Contracts = 24 contracts
While I believe that while markets will be weak in the coming weeks, I don’t think we are in for an outright crash. Interest rates are just too low, and foreign money is still pouring into the markets, as you can see in the incredible strength of the US dollar.
We are also back in the sweet spot for adding new option spread positions with the Volatility Index (VIX) back at $21. Some of this down move is due to “impeachment shock” which I believe will wear off in a few days or weeks as we settle down to trench warfare in Washington.
I am therefore buying the S&P 500 (SPY) October 2019 $270-$275 in-the-money vertical bull call spread at $4.40 or best.
Don’t pay more than $4.60 or you’ll be chasing.
This is a bet that the S&P 500 (SPY) will not trade below $275.00 by the October 18 option expiration day in 12 trading days. These strikes also have the additional benefit in that they have huge downside support from the 200-day moving average at $280.94.
If you don’t do options, stand aside. This is a very short-term options play only.
Here are the specific trades you need to execute this position:
Buy 24 October 2019 (SPY) $270 calls at……...…….……$19.50
Sell short 24 October 2019 (SPY) $275 calls at………….$15.10
Net Cost:………………………….………..…………..........….....$4.40
Potential Profit: $5.00 - $4.40 = $0.60
(24 X 100 X $0.60) = $1,440 or 13.63% in 12 trading days.
